In my deserted hotel, few cars remained. Of those, the best of them all was this JCB 507.42. The design is truly thoughtful to packaging and use and maintainability. A real engineering exercise!
The main structure was the primary tool, the forklift and hydraulic arm. Stuck to the sides was an operated pid, and engine pod. Both easily accessable. Perfect.

British company, American built I'm guessing.

Nope. British built. They get unloaded at the jcb USA headquarters in Georgia and assembled\inspected there . The buckets\forks\attachments are all sourced here though.
I used to work at a new Holland dealer that was also a jcb dealer. JCB machinery can be polarizing here in the states. I found the owners and operators to be very much like British ad European car owners around here: they either l ove Love LOVE them or hate them so much you would think that Joseph Cyril Bamford had done someth ing untoward to their mother.

The parts literature and diagrams on loder machines HORRENDOUS. Though 2007 and up the cataloging is rather nice.

Oh cool. I thought with them having such large factories there they’d source all the materials there.
Ye’, there isn’t much need to be so polarised by something like a machine.

Oh wait. They do build the ‘ Robot’ line of skid steers here.
Yeah machinery shouldn’t be polarizing. But it is. Everyone has their favorite. Until it’s broke down.
Then I get to pull out my favorite line. “I didn’t design it, build it, sell it, buy it, or break it. I’m just here to fix it.”
Because everything breaks down. No matter what colour the paint is.
